Benzo Edit ships a complete editing pipeline in a single HTML file — no installation, no build step, no cloud dependency. Here is everything it can do.
Drag and drop several videos and audio files at once. Each gets probed for duration and resolution automatically, then lands on the timeline as a clip.
Add as many video and audio tracks as you need. Every track has its own mute and hide toggles, and the timeline scrolls horizontally with a precise ruler.
Hover any clip to reveal bright handles at each edge. Drag them to trim in and out with live tooltips. Frame-accurate down to the hundredth of a second.
Move the playhead anywhere and press S. Every clip under the playhead splits cleanly into two independent clips you can move and trim separately.
Grab the middle of any clip and slide it left or right. Edges snap automatically to the playhead and to neighbouring clips for clean cuts.
Brightness, contrast, saturation, hue rotation, blur, grayscale, and sepia — all rendered in real time and baked into export without a single GPU shader.
Add unlimited text layers. Position with X/Y sliders, choose any color, and set the size. Overlays appear live over the preview and in the exported file.
Adjust the volume of every audio clip independently. Video clips carry their own audio stream; audio files sit on their own tracks underneath.
Fifty steps of undo with Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z. Every action — trim, move, split, delete, filter change — is reversible.
Uses the browser's native MediaRecorder with H.264 when available, falling back to VP9 WebM. No FFmpeg download, no WASM bootstrap.
Once the page loads, it never needs the network again. Your files are read from disk and written back to disk, bypassing every server in between.
Drag the splitters between panels to resize the media pool, preview, and properties to your liking. The layout remembers nothing — it doesn't need to.
Open the editor and drop in a clip. There's nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
